Nosso Mar is one of the best seafood restaurants in Brasilia, and a tradition for us on Brazilian Valentine's Day. The first time I ever had a still in shell crab, they gave me a mallet and I smashed it to bits. The environment is simple and the beers are Brazilian basic, but the food is great and the waiters friendly.

The fish stew is excellent and filling, though I like mine a little spicier.

And the garlic shrimp is great but a little pricey. Brazilians eat too much shrimp, they need to try some of the other treats of the sea.

Carneiro e Picanha

My first restaurant love in Brazil, my home away from home, Carneiro e Picanha deserves to be my first post. The picanha is the main attraction, but all the meats are great and the service comes with a smile. I used to live in the next block and have given many English classes here, the waiters, the owner and chef all made this gringo with the funny Portuguese feel happy and comfortable.
It is a simple place with cold beer and good food, here you can see the picanha, prepared simply and delicious. Besides the picanha, the lamb and wild boar are both worth a try, I don't think I'd ever had boar before!
